Sales is a specialized career, not a job, not a hierarchy, like a doctor, the doctor can do a lifetime, not when the hospital director, not when the chief physician that the doctor can not go on; like engineers, not when the chief engineer that the engineer can not go on. China's cultural traditions for so many years that we Chinese people's official thinking is y rooted, many people's life goal is to be a man on the man, is to manage people, the expectations of the career is also the ability to improve the position and level on the most important thing to see. For example, sales people often think, do four or five years of sales, how can not be a manager, but also can not manage people, it is doubtful whether to do the head, it is doubtful what to do in the future; do a few years as a sales manager, with a small sales team to do a period of time, it is to consider how to have not been promoted to the opportunity to be a director of sales, but also doubt that this can continue to do for how long.

In fact, I am such an example of myself, several times jumping ship also have this reason, I was seven years from the sales line in the apprentice to do the general manager of a foreign company in China, but more than a decade to come over this way and then reflect on it, I think that this way of thinking is narrow, and also impetuous. If all engaged in the sales profession think so, do so, everyone will be very impatient, the industry will be very impatient. Sales staff if you can not complete the performance, do not do a good job of sales, just like doctors can not see the level of disease, engineers do not do the level of design, I'm afraid to be eliminated, but now many sales people feel that if you can not be a manager, can not mention the director, to be eliminated, they want to change careers, which is a kind of misunderstanding.

Sales is not a youthful meal, do not feel how the age of 30, 40 years old still do sales more no interest ah. I encountered in foreign enterprises, many foreign veteran sales, forty or fifty years old, in the company's administrative level is still the lowest level of sales staff, under a soldier also did not, but the company up and down and the customer are very respectful of them, because they have a wealth of experience and expertise, income is very high, more than a few levels of their manager and director of the annual salary and bonuses, because they have the company's most important big customers! They are able to consistently bring in big business for the company because of their experience, ability and contacts. I've talked to them, and they don't want to become officials or go into politics, and they are all very happy with their situation, and their lives are actually very enviable indeed.

This is not the case in China right now because the country is still in its infancy and lacks an accumulation of talent, and there is a shortage of soldiers, not to mention generals. Companies are short of salesmen, more short of good salesmen, more short of good salesmen with management talent

So as long as you make some performance, the boss will want to think of this person is not able to bring other people together to do a good job in sales, so some good salesmen, although there is no outstanding management ability and sharp political sense, but also pushed up to the leadership position.
