Datong Coal Mine Group Co., Ltd. is the third largest coal mining company in the People's Republic of China, after Shenhua Group and China Coal Energy Group. The company is headquartered in Datong City, Shanxi Province, a major coal region in China. Previously, the coal mines spanned the cities of Datong, Shuozhou and Xinzhou, with a coal field area of 6,157 square kilometers and a total reserve of 89.2 billion tons. With the continuous upgrading and development of the enterprise, all kinds of business, including coal, electricity, etc., have crossed 18 cities (districts) in 7 provinces, including Shanxi, Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang.

In December 2003, Shanxi Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government reorganized the coal production, transportation and marketing enterprises of the northern part of Shanxi Province in accordance with the requirements of the modern enterprise system, and set up a new Datong Coal Mining Group Limited Liability Company. In December 2005, after the implementation of the debt-to-equity conversion, it became a seven shareholders *** with the capital of the Datong Coal Mining Group Limited Liability Company, initially formed across the three cities of Datong, Shuozhou, Xinzhou, 39 counties, districts, with a coalfield area of 6157 square kilometers, a total of 89.2 billion tons of reserves of the group of companies. The company has total assets of 203 billion yuan, 73 pairs of mines, 800,000 employees and their families. 2012 coal production and sales of 170 million tons, exceeding 100 million tons for eight consecutive years.
