Urban Relaxation Brand "Moment to Moment" Raises Capital to Open Its 5th Experience Store

Over the past two years, One Moment, a new brand that specializes in massage and instant relaxation, has opened four stores in Shenzhen, China. There's no doubt that Moment to Moment stands out in its unique position by differentiating itself from traditional herbalists, high-end spas and beauty salons. Meanwhile, the fifth store is focusing on "smart" services to upgrade the space experience.

YUDesigns chose the Chinese word "简" (简), which represents "space" and "time", as the keyword for this project. The main attraction and challenge for YUDesigns was to create space and time in order to provide guests with complete recovery and relaxation during their 30-minute stay. This project requires a balance between efficiency and classicism, as well as between technicism and humanism.

Most of the guests of a moment seek a high quality of life and aesthetics, work in high-end jobs, and see massage and relaxation as a rigid need, while having limited personal time. Thanks to the bionic massage chairs certified by Japan's Ministry of Health and Medical Devices, One Moment has succeeded in shortening the service time from 60 minutes to 30 minutes. The specificity of time drives the distinction between Momochi and hotels, teahouses and restaurants.

At the beginning of the project, YUDesigns approached the target client first, focusing on creating a pleasant and durable space through the application of different materials, and ultimately making the Moment Room a resting harbor for its clients. Through spatial design, process re-engineering and technology integration, Moment to Moment provides clients with "their own moment to moment space".

Surrounded by the colors of sand and stone, with walls made of stone and cactus plants, the guest will escape the boredom of the office environment and enter his own dream world, just by entering the lobby of the Moment. The seated circular information desk brings a social atmosphere and breaks down communication barriers once and for all. One Moment insisted on doing away with the traditional front desk, which not only saves the receptionist from redundant operations, but also builds camaraderie with guests by providing customized services.

"Light" is an effective method of visual construction. Lobbies, aisles and each massage room diminish the intensity of light, like a ritual of light, to relax people. In the case of the aisles, for example, instead of direct dome lights, YUDesigns puts meandering strips of light next to the aisles, guiding customers as if they were following a path through the forest. The setup of the room numbers is also worth mentioning. With upward and downward light sources, rooms 1 through 12 are projected onto the wall, waiting to be unlocked by guests.

Sensors and intelligent interactive systems operate according to the immediate status and needs of the guest in the room***. Guests will be completely rested, with flickering light and music whispering around them. When the lights come on and the background volume gradually increases, the guest wakes up in the most comfortable way possible, fully charged. The "touch" of the moment follows common sense: wooden door handles transfer the public **** area to the private space;? Fabric-covered ceilings contribute to the softness when lying down;? A shoe-changing area on the porch eases guests' tension.

YUDesigns insists on "de-decorating," with the true intention of making people feel the design. There is not a single decorative painting for a moment. Try to feel the rough texture of diatomaceous earth walls and the gentle touch of wooden floors. In the room, the straight line becomes a rounded dome, bringing a sense of security to the guests, as if they were hiding in a cave, back in their mother's womb.

Space and light (visual) for comfort, massage (touch) for tranquility, aroma (smell) for pleasure;? Music (auditory) for healing and wholesome food (flavor) form a five-sense experience in a single moment. Here the guest will get his most favorable solutions for complete relaxation. Without the distraction of a service assistant, customized services can be easily accomplished through the intelligent voice butler in each room. During the relaxation period, by sending commands to the smart butler, one can simply get "his own unique moment" with customized lighting, temperature and music. This is what YUDesigns and Moment to Moment are all about - making technology work for people.

Founded in June 2016, One Moment is dedicated to solving the needs of urban users for short-term relaxation. It is a recreational and wellness platform for the new generation of urban people, located in the core area of the CBD, and consists of a number of private rooms in a stylized physical space, dedicated to enabling office users to use their fragmented time to relax and rejuvenate. It had received millions of yuan of angel round financing in March 2017 from Shenzhen Yihe Capital. Currently, Momentary has four branches in Shenzhen, and the interior decoration style of the store is similar to that of a small, rustic and quiet Japanese tea room.In January 2018, Momentary announced that it had completed a ten million yuan Pre-A round of financing, led by Tyrannosaurus Capital.
