Deputy Minister level. Wang Shuguo, male, was born in Xian County, Hebei Province in October 1958. He joined the Party in November 1976 and started working in June 1973. He graduated from Harbin Institute of Technology with an on-the-job doctoral degree in electromechanical control and automation. He once served as deputy secretary of the Party Committee and president (vice ministerial level) of Xi'an Jiaotong University. Mainly engaged in research on robot autonomous control theory, robot sensor technology, space robot technology; medical auxiliary robot systems, medical equipment and instruments; biomedical image processing, computer-aided medical technology, etc. As of 2017, he has presided over the completion of more than 20 National Natural Science Foundation, 863 and other projects, and his scientific research achievements have won 7 provincial and ministerial level Science and Technology Progress Awards. Applied for 15 national invention patents. Participated in 6 projects including the National 863 Program and the National Natural Science Foundation. He is an expert in the field of robot research and has achieved important scientific research results in intelligent robot simulation, mobile robots, and space robots. At the beginning of the 21st century, he created a new field of medical engineering research in China and presided over the development of the world's first bionic hand for trauma recovery, China's first electronic atlas of human brain anatomy, and China's first minimally invasive abdominal interventional surgical robot system. Research directions include medical robots, bionic robots, biomedical engineering, space robots, etc.
