Last year, L&T conducted a study to identify potential partners for its main business, evaluating Chinese companies on key indicators such as quality certification and equipment. L&T-Infotech, a wholly owned subsidiary of L&T, is also increasing its presence in China in the information technology sector. L&T-Infotech provides end-to-end software solutions and services to global customers in the manufacturing, utilities, telecommunications and financial services sectors. L&T's recent focus in China is on the equipment manufacturing and electrical and electronic industries, in addition to leveraging its information technology strengths to establish a 100-person software development center in China.
