What are the efforts made by the Chinese government to assist developing countries?

I. China will double the number of agricultural technology demonstration centers in developing countries to 30 in the next five years; double the number of agricultural experts and technicians dispatched to foreign countries to 1,000; and provide developing countries with 3,000 trips of in-country agricultural training.

Second, China donated $30 million to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations to set up a trust fund for projects and activities to help developing countries improve their agricultural production capacity

Third, increase exports and assistance to countries with food shortages.

iv. In the next five years, China will provide 10,000 additional scholarships to developing countries to study in China, while training 1,500 school principals and teachers specifically for African countries; and equip 30 hospitals built with aid to African countries with an appropriate number of doctors and medical equipment, while training 1,000 doctors, nurses and administrators for the recipient countries concerned.

V. China will waive the interest-free loans due and unpaid by the LDCs to China at the end of 2008, and grant zero tariff treatment to 95 percent of the products of the LDCs concerned.

VI. In the next five years, China will assist developing countries in building 100 small-scale clean energy projects such as small hydropower, solar energy and biogas.
