Initial period (1978-1979)
In 1978, the Party Committee of the Second Medical University discussed the "program mission statement" to determine the "Second Medical Affiliated Baosteel Hospital", with a staff of 1.60. It undertook the medical tasks of teaching hospital, regional tertiary hospital and staff of Baosteel General Factory: The staffing level was 1:60, and it was responsible for the medical tasks of the teaching hospital, the regional tertiary hospital and the employees of the Baosteel General Factory. Beds determined by the Baosteel General Factory for 350, 40 acres of land acquisition, 560 employees on staff, the proposed 500 to 600 beds of the expansion of the initial plan program.
Opening period (1980-1982)
January 16, 1980, the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Health officially named "Second Medical University Affiliated Baosteel Hospital".
On February 26, 1980, Baosteel Hospital officially opened. The temporary hospital was located at No.101, Baosteel 8 Village, with 8 departments including internal, external, gynecology, pediatrics, ophthalmology, stomatology, skin, etc., and 50 beds.
In March 1982, the temporary hospital moved to the new ward building, the ward building was officially opened, with 200 beds set up.
Entrepreneurial stage (1983-2014)
1982-1983, the first phase of the project was completed, including: surgical building, operation building, outpatient building, infectious disease outpatient building. The total construction area was 25,600 square meters, and the number of beds increased to 300. The greening site was more than 6,000 square meters.
In April 1984, the second phase of Baosteel Hospital project - Internal Medicine Building infrastructure plan mission statement submitted to the Baosteel Engineering Command. Internal medicine ward building 150 beds, an area of 5,000 square meters, the capital of 3.5 million yuan. The second phase of the project (internal medicine building) was completed in November 1991, 1992 opening.
The hospital was first named Shanghai Health Civilization Unit in 1985. By 2009, the hospital has been awarded the title of health civilization unit for six times. 1986 September Shanghai Wusong District Red Cross agreed to establish the Red Cross Society of Baosteel Hospital of Shanghai Second Medical University, and Comrade Yu Dongcai was appointed as the president. 2008 corrected the name to "Shanghai Red Cross No. 3 People's Hospital"; 2009 was awarded the national "Excellent Red Cross (Society)"; 2009 was awarded the national "Outstanding Red Cross (Society)". In 2008, the name was changed to Shanghai Red Cross Third People's Hospital; in 2009, it was awarded the title of "Excellent Red Cross (Society) Organization" by the State.
Three Class B Hospital Grade Review
Early in 1993, Shanghai Municipal Health Bureau approved the increase of the hospital's beds from 302 to 502. In November of the same year, the Shanghai Municipal Office of the level of our hospital for a comprehensive review, and achieved excellent results, to achieve the requirements of the "third class B." In June 1994, the Municipal Bureau of Health audit officially recognized the Second Medical University Affiliated Baosteel Hospital for the "third class B" hospital.
Baby Friendly Hospital
In 1996, it was officially approved by the Ministry of Health of China as a "baby-friendly hospital".
Early trauma emergency center listed
December 1997, by the Baosteel General Factory and Baosteel Hospital, the cooperation of the construction of Baosteel Hospital, "Trauma Emergency Center" was formally listed and established.
International Emergency Rescue Network Hospital
On October 26, 1999, Baosteel Hospital was recognized by the Ministry of Health as the International Emergency Rescue Network Hospital of the Ministry of Health.
Fourth, reform and competition
In 2002, the hospital nephrology hemodialysis center was approved by the Second Medical University, and the blood purification room of nephrology was listed.
The Department of Radiology introduced GE Lightspeed OX/I multi-row spiral CT and OEC9800 Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) and other equipments to establish the specialties of diagnostic imaging and interventional therapy.
October 2002, one of the series of activities for the 50th anniversary of the Second Medical University - Seminar on the Progress of Diagnostic Imaging and the official opening of Baosteel 1.5T Dual Gradient NMR***Vibration.
In April 2009, the 64-slice ultra-high-speed spiral CT with the world's advanced medical technology level was settled in our hospital, which is the first 64-slice spiral CT in Baoshan area.
In April 2003, the Special Needs Clinic was opened on the third floor of the outpatient clinic, and the Special Needs Clinic of Baosteel Hospital, which aims to let Baoshan area residents enjoy high-quality healthcare services of famous specialists close to their homes, began its trial operation. The first 15 specialists from major hospitals in Shanghai, including internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, and ophthalmology, were recruited to attend the clinic.
In May 2003, the Department of Burns and Plastic Surgery was reorganized. Hospital burns as Baoshan District, the only set of burns, plastic as one of the specialties of the department has more than 20 years of history, has undertaken a number of municipal scientific research projects and become a master's degree awarded by the Second Medical University. The newly built Burns and Plastic Surgery Department is equipped with intensive care unit, hydrotherapy room, functional rehabilitation room, burns laboratory, independent burns operating room, etc. Newly purchased multi-functional scar treatment machine, ultrasonic liposuction machine, laser hair removal machine, laser blemish removal machine and other advanced equipments.
In August 2003, the X-knife Radiotherapy Center of Xinhua Hospital Baogang Branch was officially opened. the setting of X-knife Radiotherapy Department filled the blank of tumor radiotherapy in Baoshan region and effectively relieved the problem of difficult access to the doctor for regional tumor patients.
Honored with the title of Municipal Civilized Unit
In August 2003, Baosteel Hospital was honored with the title of Shanghai's 11th (2001-2002) Civilized Unit. As of 2009, it has been awarded the title of Municipal Civilized Unit for four consecutive times.
Establishment of Experimental Research Laboratory
In August 2003, the Experimental Research Laboratory of the hospital was established, with an area of about 300 m2. The laboratory is divided into cell culture room, molecular biology laboratory, in vitro laboratory, and clean-grade animal operation room and animal room, which can provide cell and bacterial culture, establishment of many kinds of animal models, basic techniques of molecular biology, cardiovascular, respiratory, urinary, digestive, endocrine and other systems of drug experimental method, etc. It provides experimental conditions and support for technical methods and management. Experimental research laboratory to alleviate the difficulties of graduate students to do experimental research outside the borrowed space, to facilitate the needs of students and employees of scientific experimental work.
V. Sustainable Development (2005-2009)
Assistance to the Construction of Central and Western China
On November 7, 2003, Baosteel Hospital and the Second People's Hospital of Shizuishan City, Ningxia held a signing ceremony for the "Agreement on Collaboration in Medical and Technical Support" at the Shanghai Committee of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of China (DAB).
April 15, 2005 , Baosteel Hospital and Xiangfan Xiangyang District People's Hospital of Hubei held a signing ceremony of Friendship Cooperation in the VIP room of Zhangling Building.
On May 19, President Gong Shengji signed a letter of intent with Governor Ma of Haiyuan County, Ningxia to build a hope elementary school, and assistance to hope elementary school in the west officially began. in September, the Seven Hundred Hope Primary School in Haiyuan County, Ningxia Autonomous Region, which was built at a cost of 150,000 yuan with the contribution of the hospital, was inaugurated.
In September 2007, the hospital signed an agreement with the Yezhi Township Health Center of Wisi Lisu Autonomous County, Diqing Prefecture, Yunnan Province. Since then, the number of hospitals in the central and western regions that our hospital has been helping has increased to the third one.
Xinhua Hospital Group Baosteel Hospital was listed
On March 18, 2005, the listing ceremony of Shanghai Xinhua Hospital Group Baosteel Hospital was held. This move provides a good platform for the hospital's outward development and accelerates the improvement of the hospital's medical level, especially relying on the advantages of pediatrics of Xinhua Hospital, which will create a good opportunity for the hospital to build a brand discipline of pediatrics in Baoshan area.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Section inaugurated
In September 2005, the Hyperbaric Oxygen Section of the hospital was officially inaugurated. The newly established Hyperbaric Oxygen Section has the most advanced three-compartment and seven-door high-pressure air compartments in China, which are spacious, comfortable, and safe, and are equipped with treatment compartments, transition compartments, and rescue compartments, and can accommodate 22 people for treatment at the same time.
Changed its name to the Third People's Hospital attached to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine
In September 2005, approved by the Shanghai Municipal Health Bureau, Baosteel Hospital attached to Shanghai Second Medical University officially changed its name to the Third People's Hospital attached to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine.
Drug Clinical Trial Research Organization Qualification Recognition
On November 28-29, 2005, a group of six officials and experts from the Ministry of Health and the State Food and Drug Administration of China carried out the first on-site inspection of our hospital for the qualification recognition of drug clinical trial research organizations.
In June 2006, the State Ministry of Health and the State Food and Drug Administration approved that our institution and four specialties of oncology, infection, general surgery and gynecology and obstetrics were qualified to conduct clinical trials of new drugs.
On December 29, 2008, our "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" infrastructure project - outpatient and emergency, medical technology, ward building expansion project was officially approved by the Shanghai Municipal Development and Reform Commission.
October 2009, the Shanghai Municipal Development and Reform Commission, Shanghai Shenkang Hospital Development Center were issued "on the consent of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine Affiliated to the Third People's Hospital of outpatient and emergency, medical technology, ward complex project feasibility study report approval" documents. The project construction covers an area of 12,500 square meters, demolition of dilapidated buildings 11,462 square meters, with a total construction area of 36,100 square meters, of which 30,800 square meters above ground and 5,300 square meters underground. The total investment estimate of the project is about 213.71 million yuan.
Opening of the Infection Department Building
In March 2006, the Infection Department Building of our hospital was officially opened in full, and all outpatient, emergency and inpatient treatments, including infection, intestinal and fever clinics, were all included in it. The construction and opening of the Infectious Disease Department building is an important step for the hospital to increase the construction of public **** health and to serve the people in the region, and it is also the only center in Baoshan District that admits and treats patients with infectious diseases. The opening of this building will further improve the regional public **** health system and play an important role in guaranteeing the maintenance of the people's health.
Specialized Hospital for Free Sight Restoration Surgery for Poor Cataract Patients
In line with the public welfare nature of public hospitals, in April 2007, the hospital declared the Shanghai Municipal Government's practical project "Free Sight Restoration Surgery for Poor Cataract Patients", and became one of 14 designated hospitals, which was evaluated and confirmed by Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Health's project expert group.
General Practitioner Training Base
In 2008, the Shanghai Municipal Health Bureau approved the hospital as a training base for general practitioners in Shanghai.
Shanghai Critical Neonatal Consultation and Rescue Center
In December 2008, the hospital became one of the first six "Shanghai Critical Neonatal Consultation and Rescue Centers".
