Whether mental illness belongs to the reimbursement category of rural cooperative medical care

Psychiatric treatment can be within the scope of reimbursement of rural cooperative medical care.

According to the Catalogue of Basic Medical Insurance for Urban and Rural Residents (Version 20 18) and the Catalogue of National Essential Drugs (Version 20 18) issued by the National Health and Wellness Committee, the expenses for mental illness treatment can be included in the reimbursement scope of rural cooperative medical care, but the reimbursement ratio may be different in different regions. The reimbursement scope and proportion of rural cooperative medical care need to be determined according to local regulations. At the same time, because psychiatric treatment is different from the treatment of other diseases, it requires specialized medical institutions and professional doctors for diagnosis and treatment, so it is necessary to go to designated medical institutions for treatment and provide corresponding proof materials to get reimbursement.

The following materials shall be submitted for reimbursement of the new rural cooperative medical system:

1, valid identification: the insured needs to provide valid identification, such as ID card, household registration book, etc. ;

2. Medical insurance card: the insured person needs to carry his new rural cooperative medical insurance card for hospitalization settlement;

3. Outpatient medical records: If the patient is in the outpatient clinic, the insured person needs to provide outpatient medical records, including medical records, inspection reports and prescriptions;

4. Hospitalization medical records: the insured person needs to provide hospitalization medical records, including hospitalization records, diagnosis certificates, operation records and expense lists;

5. Invoices for medical expenses: Insured personnel need to provide invoices for medical expenses, including outpatient invoices and hospitalization invoices;

6. Other supporting materials: If the medical expenses to be reimbursed include special examination and special treatment, the insured may need to provide corresponding supporting materials.

To sum up, the above materials may vary according to different regions and hospitals. It is best to consult the local new rural cooperative medical management department or hospital before seeing a doctor. At the same time, when submitting materials, we should also ensure the authenticity and integrity of the materials, so as not to affect the reimbursement and use rights.
