Brief introduction of medical titanium metal

Titanium biomedical materials

Metal titanium used for manufacturing medical instruments, prostheses or auxiliary treatment equipment implanted in human body.

Medical titanium has excellent corrosion resistance, elastic modulus close to natural bone and excellent biocompatibility. Medical pure titanium has a single-phase structure and cannot be strengthened by heat treatment.

According to the content of carbon, iron, oxygen and other impurity elements, it is divided into 1, 2, 3 and 4 grades.

It can be used as internal bone plate, bone screw, dental implant, etc. Artificial skulls, artificial heart valves, pacemakers and titanium alloys for radiotherapy are also made of titanium mesh or titanium plate.
