The former hospital of Tsinghua University Affiliated Hospital is the hospital directly under the Ministry of Information Industry, founded in February 1959, successively known as the General Hospital of Electronics, 401 Hospital, Beijing Jiuxianqiao Hospital. 1994 was assessed by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Health as a tertiary hospital and baby-friendly hospitals, 1995, was listed as the hospital of Beijing City as the hospital of major illnesses, the hospital of the public health care system and the first batch of medical insurance designated hospital. In April 2003, the hospital was transferred to the Ministry of Education and became an affiliated hospital of Tsinghua University. The hospital has been awarded the title of "Capital Public **** Health Civilized Unit" for many years.
The School of Medicine at Tsinghua University consists of three departments and one center - the Department of Basic Medicine, the Department of Biomedical Engineering, the Department of Pharmacy, and the Center for Public **** Health Research - and has established five disciplines - Basic Medicine, Clinical Medicine, Pharmacy, Biomedical Engineering, and Public **** Health - as well as two first-level disciplines - Biology and Biomedical Engineering.
