In 1987, the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery of Xinhua Hospital Affiliated to Dalian University was established, which is one of the earlier plastic and reconstructive surgery departments in the history of domestic plastic and reconstructive surgery; in 2006, approved by Dalian Municipal Health Bureau, the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery of Xinhua Hospital Affiliated to Dalian University became the first-level key discipline of plastic and reconstructive surgery of Dalian City; in 2007, the department began to host " Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery Anatomy Training Course", Prof. Wang Zhijun personally lectured, for domestic and foreign plastic surgeons live demonstration of cosmetic surgery; 2011, Dalian University Affiliated Xinhua Hospital Laser Plastic Surgery and Aesthetics Center was established; 2012, Dalian Xinhua Meitian hosted the 2012 Dalian International Academic Conference on Aesthetic Plastic Surgery; 2013, upgraded to Dalian Xinhua Meitian Medical Cosmetic Hospital, moved to No. 407 Zhongshan Road, Shahekou District, Dalian.
In 2015, Xinhua Meitian Hospital was honored to host the Meivos International Medical Cosmetic Congress at the Davos International Convention Center in Dalian. The congress gathered more than 2,600 participants, more than 300 domestic and international keynote speakers, and more than 90 exhibitors.
