"Qing Xiang Walnut" was introduced from Japan by Professor Xi Rongting of Hebei Agricultural University in the early 1980s. "Qing Xiang" walnut is a late fruit variety with early fruiting and high yield. The tree is medium-sized, half-opened, and grows vigorously when it is young, and the tree is stable after fruiting. The high grafting trees blossom and bear fruit in the second year, and the fruit setting rate is above 85%. The flowering rate of newly planted grafted seedlings is over 60% in the second year, 100% in the third year, and the yield per mu is 300-400 kg in the full fruit stage. In Baoding, Hebei Province, the leaves germinated in early April, with the peak of male flowers in the middle, the peak of female flowers in the middle and late April, the fruit matured in the middle of September, and the leaves fell from 165438 in early October. Nuts are large, with an average single fruit weight of 16.7g, nearly conical, uniform in size, smooth and light brown in shell, beautiful in appearance and tight in suture. The shell thickness is 1.0- 1. 1mm, the kernel is full, the inner pleat wall is degraded, the kernel is easy to take, and the kernel yield is 52%-53%. The seed kernel contains protein 23. 1%, crude fat 65.8%, carbohydrate 9.8%, VB 1.5mg, Vb2 0.08mg, and the seed kernel is light yellow with excellent flavor and no astringency.
From the cultivation characteristics, this variety has the advantages of early fruiting, high yield, strong growth potential, wide adaptability, strong continuous fruiting ability, no obvious annual phenomenon and long economic fruiting life.
Judging from the disease resistance, it can be said that Qing Xiang is the best walnut variety with the strongest disease resistance among northern walnut varieties.
According to the commodity characteristics of nuts, this variety is beautiful and correct, smooth in appearance, moderately thin in shell, full in kernel, light in color and astringent in taste, good in taste and not easy to deteriorate.
From the aspect of mechanization, the shell thickness of this variety is 1mm, the suture line is closely combined, there is no kernel leakage and it is not easy to be damaged. Suitable for mechanized harvesting, peeling, easy cleaning, storage and transportation, and also suitable for mechanized kernel removal.
It can be said that fragrant walnut is an ideal variety to build a high-quality commodity walnut production base at present, and it has a good development prospect in walnut production in China.
