What is the difference between industrial oxygen and medical oxygen?

Industrial oxygen, as the name suggests, is used for industrial production and product processing of gas, it is lower quality requirements, the existence of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, acetylene and other harmful impurities. Medical oxygen is used in the rescue and auxiliary treatment of patients, China from 2000 onwards to include medical oxygen in the management of drugs, "Chinese People's *** and the National Pharmacopoeia 2005 Edition" provides for the mandatory national standard of medical oxygen, the concentration of medical oxygen is set at not less than 99.5%, and at the same time, in the production process must be carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, harmful gases and impurities, and filtering, and the oxygen cylinder on the provisions of the oxygen cylinder. The company has also stipulated that oxygen cylinders must be accompanied by medical oxygen certificates, and that the bottles must be labeled with the words "medical oxygen".

It is clear that industrial oxygen is an industrial material, while medical oxygen is a life-saving medicine, and it is absolutely not permitted to use industrial oxygen instead of medical oxygen to be infused to patients. There have been many reports in the media before about industrial oxygen being passed off as medical oxygen. As early as February 2005, there were media reports that patients in several centralized oxygen supply hospitals in Zhengzhou City were sucking industrial oxygen, and in July 2006, Qilu Evening News reported that a hospital in Jinan used industrial oxygen to treat people. Also in July 2006, Sanqin Metropolis Daily reported that a hospital in Ankang City used industrial oxygen as medical oxygen to treat patients. In the end, these hospitals were severely punished by the relevant departments. What's more, on June 11, 2006, CCTV's "Weekly Quality Report" reported under the title of "Switched Medical Oxygen" that Luo Keliang, a citizen of Tongchuan City, Shaanxi Province, left his life due to respiratory failure after he inhaled 34 bottles of industrial oxygen that was passed off as medical oxygen.
