In 1961, by 11 medical personnel and the former Cangxian Chengguan Commune Health Center part of the retained staff merged to form the Cangzhou Municipal People's Hospital, the address is located in the former Cangxian Chengguan People's Commune Health Center, No. 17, Qianpu Street, the former site of the hospital, opened 50 beds, set up internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, traditional Chinese medicine, laboratory, pharmacy, 6 departments.
In 1963, the Cangzhou City People's Committee invested 180,000 yuan, the construction of Cangzhou City People's Hospital outpatient building located in Shuncheng Street No. 69, outpatient clinic and inpatient department is located in two places. 1970, Cangzhou City People's Health Prevention and Control Hospital disintegrated, renamed Cangzhou City People's Hospital.
In 1974, the investment of 280,000 new Cangzhou City People's Hospital inpatient department, the hospital site is located in Weiming Road, No. 20, inpatient department moved to the new site, the beds increased to 192. 1977, the hospital expansion, outpatient clinic moved to Weiming Road, No. 20, the beds increased to 206, the staff of nearly 300 people.
In 1989, the hospital's new outpatient building was officially opened, the construction of four additional departments of geriatric cadres, cerebral internal medicine, anorectal urology and thoracic surgery, dermatology, beds increased to 380; carried out by the "single simplified tubal ligation" has been a success, to fill the gaps at the provincial level.

In 2000, the internal and external inpatient buildings were put into use successively; the number of employees was 698, covering an area of 39,000 square meters, with a building area of 35,000 square meters and 380 beds.
In 2003, Canglian Staff Hospital was transferred to our hospital and became the first branch of People's Hospital for Psychiatric Rehabilitation; "Cangzhou Emergency Center", "Cangzhou Kidney Disease Treatment Center", "Cangzhou Medical Imaging Center" were attached to our hospital. In 2004, Cangzhou City Hongwei Printing Factory was purchased for a fee, covering an area of 2,680 square meters; Cangzhou Refining First Aid Station was established; and the building of Emergency Rescue Center was constructed with a floor area of 3,100 square meters.
In 2005, the former Cangzhou City Health Epidemiological Station was purchased for a fee, covering an area of 4,033.3 square meters; the "Municipal Emergency Rescue Center" was attached to the hospital; and the first pancreas/kidney transplantation in Hebei Province was completed, which was the first multi-organ transplantation in Cangzhou City.
In 2006, the hospital became the only hospital in Cangzhou City, breaking ground for the comprehensive ward building, No. 20 Weiming Road, with an area of more than 34,000 square meters; renovation of the former Cangzhou Municipal Health and Epidemiological Station, the establishment of the city's first-class People's Hospital stomatological branch; the establishment of 675 beds.
In 2007, it was formally approved by the provincial health department to become a "three-level general hospital". 2008, the establishment of 1,075 beds, covers an area of 52,000 square meters, construction area of 73,000 square meters; hosting Zhongjie Hospital, set up Cangzhou City People's Hospital Zhongjie Branch; paid for the purchase of the City Examination Center, the building area of 2,000 square meters; the cerebral medicine department of the former Cangzhou City Health Prevention Station. In 2011, it was formally approved by the provincial health department to become a "Grade 3A general hospital". In 2012, the hospital covers a total area of 241 acres, with a total construction surface of 262,000 square meters (including 150,000 square meters under construction), with 1,375 beds and 1,852 employees. The foundation stone of the hospital area was laid; the first phase of Yihe Hospital (former Yihe Middle School) was put into use, with 300 beds; the psychiatric ward was completed, with a building area of 4,600 square meters and 80 open beds; the Department of Surgery became a national key discipline construction unit; the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Department of Neurology became the provincial key development disciplines in medical science; and the Department of Pediatrics and Critical Care and Department of Neurosurgery were evaluated to be the key clinical specialties cultivation units in Hebei Province.
In 2013, the People's Hospital Rehabilitation Center and Training Center were opened. It completed the transformation of the hospital from a purely clinical type to a clinical teaching hospital. In the same year, the Summer Palace Hospital of the People's Hospital was fully opened, and the Obstetrics Hospital, Children's Hospital and Gynecology Department were fully operational. The framework of "People's Hospital Medical Group" has been formed.
On June 1, 2014, the outpatient ward complex of the medical college hospital area successfully completed the roofing of the seventeenth floor of the main building.
