Which country does Omron belong to?

Japan

In 1933, Mr. Kazuma Tateishi established a small factory called Tateishi Electric Works in Osaka with only two employees. In its infancy, the company specialized for a time in the production of protective relays in addition to timers. The manufacture of these two products became the starting point for OMRON CORPORATION. In order to keep up with the times, the company name was unified with the brand name "OMRON CORPORATION" on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the company.

Omron was the first in the world to develop and manufacture a wide range of products and equipment systems, including contactless proximity switches, electronic auto-sensing signaling machines, vending machines, station ticketing systems, and automatic cancer diagnostic equipment. OMRON is the first company in the world to develop and produce a wide range of products and equipment systems that contribute to the progress of society and the improvement of human living standards. OMRON's corporate goal is to create social needs and build a society that is "safe", "secure", "environmentally friendly" and "healthy". The goal of OMRON is to create a society that is safe, secure, environmentally friendly and healthy.

In the 75 years since its founding on May 10, 1933, the OMRON Group has developed into a globally renowned manufacturer of automation control and electronic equipment, with world-leading core technologies for sensing and control, through the creation of new social needs. As of fiscal 2007, the OMRON Group had 35,811 employees (April 20, 2008) and a global turnover of nearly 763 billion yen. Omron China

Omron's history with China can be traced back more than 30 years. The founder of the company, Mr. Kazuma Tateishi, was the vice president of the Kyoto General Bureau of Trade Promotion, and in the early seventies, as a representative of the economic sector, he started exchanges and cooperation with various sectors in China. OMRON's business in China has gone through technical exchanges in the 70's, commissioned processing in the 80's, and direct investment and production in the 90's, and has ushered in a new phase of "re-investment and co-creation" (co-creation) in the 21st century.

Specially in the past ten years, OMRON has realized a milestone leap in its investment in China. 1991, OMRON set up its first factory in Dalian to produce healthcare equipment - OMRON (Dalian) Co., Ltd. which marked a good beginning of OMRON's direct investment in China. After that, in 1994, OMRON became the first Japanese electronics manufacturing company approved by the state authorities to set up an investment company, and, in the same year, built three control equipment manufacturing plants in Shanghai Pudong Development Zone. This means that OMRON's business in China is in full swing, and it is also a good start for OMRON to realize localized production and sales. In addition, during the three years from 2004 to 2006, Omron invested a total of 30 billion yen in China, and in 2006, Omron Industrial Automation Global Base - Omron (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. was inaugurated. At present, OMRON China has formed a comprehensive management system integrating R&D, design, production, logistics and centralized purchasing, with sales of 91.5 billion yen in FY2007, and 14,795 employees as of March 2008, OMRON China has established an all-round management system integrating R&D, design, production, logistics and centralized purchasing.

Along with the continuous expansion of its business, OMRON is actively engaged in corporate social responsibility activities. For example, it actively employs people with disabilities in its production plants in China, with a goal of meeting or exceeding the national legal ratio by March 2008, and, in order to enable people with disabilities to better participate in society, OMRON has donated 3 million yuan to welfare organizations, among other things. As China's economy takes off, OMRON is willing to create synergy with its partners in China, increase the localization process, and contribute to the sustainable development of Chinese society.
