Can IT systems be secured? How to monitor the warning?

Now many hospitals are equipped with IT systems (ungrounded systems) in important places, but many people do not know much about these, the following is to introduce the IT system insulation monitoring part of how to ensure the safety of electricity as well as early warning.

First point: medical IT system insulation monitoring components

Medical IT systems include a single-phase isolation transformer, an insulation monitor to monitor insulation resistance, transformer load and temperature, an external alarm display and tester, they are installed in the operating room or the nearest nurses' station. Continuous insulation monitoring (IEC 60364-7-710: 2002-11, section 413.1.5) ensures that deterioration of the insulation is detected and signaled immediately, and (this is the decisive factor) that there is no interruption of the power supply and that the monitoring is continuous.

Second point: insulation monitoring

1, single-phase isolation transformer

Referring to the standard IEC 60364- -7-710: 2002-11 Part 512.1.6, the rated power of the transformer should not be less than 0.5KVA and not more than 10KVA. single-phase transformers should be used. Even if a three-phase system is used, the secondary voltage should not exceed 250 V. Three-phase systems are operated for three-phase loads only.

2. Insulation monitoring equipment

The insulation monitor isoMED427P -CX is a key component in ensuring the proper functioning of the IT system. It is connected between the system and the earth and continuously monitors the insulation of the system. The Adaptive Pulse Measurement (AMP) method allows accurate measurement and display of faulty circuits that contain a DC component.

At the same time, the insulation monitor isoMED427P-CX monitors the load current and the temperature of the transformer. The device complies with the requirements of the international standards IEC 60364-7-710: 2002-11, part 413.1.5 and IEC 61557-8.Appendix A: 2007-01.
