What are the advantages and characteristics of cylindrical polishing machine?

(1) Automatic feeding, concentric excircle polishing When the polishing wheel rotates at the rotation speed n1, the workpiece tends to rotate at the same linear speed as the polishing wheel. Due to the restriction of the friction of the guide wheel on the workpiece at the same time, the workpiece rotates at a linear speed close to that of the guide wheel (the linear speed of the guide wheel is much lower than that of the polishing wheel), thus forming a great speed difference between the polishing wheel and the workpiece, thus generating the grinding effect. Changing the angle of the guide wheel and adjusting the frequency converter can also adjust the axial travel speed of the workpiece. During installation, the advancing direction and speed of the workpiece can be changed by adjusting the included angle α between the axis of the guide wheel and the horizontal plane.

taking the workpiece as the research object, the stress analysis shows that when the included angle between the axis of the guide wheel and the horizontal plane is adjusted to α, the radial direction of the guide wheel and the radial direction of the polishing wheel are also α. It can be seen that when the speed of the guide wheel is constant, the included angle α between the axis of the guide wheel and the horizontal plane increases from zero, the value of sinα increases, and the speed of the workpiece moving horizontally with the support frame also increases. When working, the center of the workpiece must be higher than the connecting line between the center of the guide wheel and the polishing wheel, so that the contact points between the workpiece and the polishing wheel and the guide wheel are not on the same diameter of the workpiece, so that some convex surfaces on the workpiece can be rounded one after another in multiple rotations to avoid grinding out prismatic workpieces.

practice has proved that the higher the center of the workpiece is, the easier it is to obtain a higher roundness and the faster the grinding process is, but the distance above the center of the workpiece should not be too large, otherwise the vertical component of the guide wheel on the workpiece may cause the workpiece to jump, thus affecting the quality of the machined surface.

(2) Select high-quality corundum rubber wheels as guide wheels.

general grinding wheels are composed of abrasives and adhesives, and abrasives generally include silicon carbide, corundum, diamond, cubic boron nitride, etc. Adhesives are resin, ceramics, brass, etc. The advantages of using hard corundum rubber wheel as guide are wear resistance, increasing friction and avoiding losing rotation.

(3) The clamping of the workpiece is simple and easy

When the workpiece is clamped, just put the shaft supports at both ends of the shaft into the bearing holes of the slider without adjustment and alignment.
