I usually need to do interviews for work and have been using a Z1C, but now I'm getting a new unit and can't decide between the Z5C and the EX1R.

The EX1R shoots in a compressed format that requires software support, which means that if you use a Taiyo (bought it N years ago) you can't read the video files directly from the card without installing the driver provided by the manufacturer (SONY).

But you can use the Ex1R as a playback machine and capture the signal into the Taiyo's machine via the component, SDI interface.

From the 5C onwards (including the Ex1R) CMOS is used as the optoelectronic device (the Z1C is a CCD).

It is true that the picture is much worse than the Z1C if you don't adjust the PP value.

But after adjusting PP the effect is very little, especially Ex1R is 1/2 CMOS, the resolution reaches 1920*1080.

If you still want to use CCD's, then consider Panasonic's 153 or Canon's h1a1 series products.SONY's business class all change CCD.

On the parameters of the camera, you can refer to my Baidu space.
