What are the precautions for installing surge protectors?

Surge protectors and Junelectronics can be divided into power line surge protectors, signal line surge protectors and antenna feeder surge protectors according to their different protection functions. Installation considerations are as follows:

First, the installation method of power line surge protector

(1) Surge protectors for power lines at all levels shall be installed at the entrance of lines into buildings, at the interface of lightning protection areas and near protected equipment. The connecting wires of surge protectors at all levels shall be short and straight, with a length not exceeding 0.5m, and shall be firmly fixed. Each terminal of the surge protector shall be connected on the same horizontal line with the terminal of the same name in the distribution box at the lower pile head of the switch and fuse, and the grounding terminal of the surge protector shall be connected with the equipotential grounding terminal board in the lightning protection area in the shortest distance. The protective grounding wire (PE) of the distribution box shall be directly connected with the equipotential grounding terminal board.

(2) The power line surge protector with terminal should be crimped; The surge protector with terminal is connected with the terminal through the terminal;

Second, the antenna feeder surge protector installation method

(1) The antenna feeder line surge protector shall be installed between the antenna feeder and the protected equipment, near the equipment in the machine room or on the rack, or directly installed on the RF port of the equipment;

(2) The grounding terminal of the antenna feeder line surge protector shall be connected to the equipotential grounding terminal board at the joint of LPZ0A or LPZOB and LPZ 1 with a copper conductor with a cross-sectional area of not less than 6mm2, and the grounding wire shall be short and straight.

Third, the installation method of signal line surge protector

(a) The signal line surge protector shall be connected to the signal port of the protected equipment. Surge protectors can be installed in cabinets or fixed on equipment racks or nearby brackets.

(2) The grounding end of the signal line surge protector shall be connected to the equipotential connection network of the machine room with a copper conductor with a cross-sectional area not less than 1.5mm2, and the grounding wire shall be short and straight.
