So, this is the problem. Why did the three Empresses conferred by Kangxi die young? To understand this problem, we need to start with these three queens.
The first empress canonized by Kangxi was: Empress Xiao Chengren, named Herseri Hala, who was the biological mother of the deposed Prince Yin Yong. According to historical records, she is the granddaughter of Sony, the minister of orphan care. She 1 1 entered the palace as the queen, which was the original match of Kangxi.
Obviously, this was a political marriage, because Kangxi was not in power at that time, and the power was in the hands of Ao Bai. Among the queen candidates, there is Ao Bai's adopted daughter, so Kangxi married Sony's grandson, the minister who entrusted orphans, just to strengthen the imperial power and hedge Ao Bai's power.
However, this did not affect the love of the Kangxi couple. Kangxi likes Empress Xiao Chengren very much. Xiao Chengren gave birth to her first son, Hu Cheng, at the age of 15. Unfortunately, he died at the age of four. So when Empress Xiao Chengren was 20 years old, she gave birth to another girl, Kangxi. Unexpectedly, this production killed Empress Xiao Chengren, and finally died in dystocia!
The second emperor of Kangxi was Empress Xiao Zhao Ren, named Niu Kelu. In fact, Niu Kelu's family entered the palace as early as Kangxi married Empress Xiao Chengren, belonging to Kangxi's "one-room wife and concubine". Three years after the death of Empress Xiao Chengren, she was posthumously made a queen.
Niu Kelu's success as queen has nothing to do with her family background, because she is the daughter of Qiba Bilong and the adopted daughter of Ao Bai, and Ao Bai has already fallen. Therefore, Niu Kelu's positioning is based on his own talents.
So even Kangxi said that she was a "good assistant of the imperial palace". But it is a great pity that Mrs. Niu Kelu died after being queen for a year. As for the historical data of the cause of death, there is no clear record. Now it is speculated that it should also die of illness.
The third empress of Kangxi was Empress Xiao Yiren, whose name was Tong Jiashi. She was the last empress conferred by Kangxi before his death. Because the first two queens died young one after another, Kangxi felt that his life was too bitter. So for a long time, he didn't chase after the queen, but only chased Tong Jiashi as the imperial concubine, letting her act as the queen and raise Yongzheng.
Unexpectedly, even so, Tong Jiashi failed to escape the "Queen's Injury". After being queen in 1989, Tong Jiashi was seriously ill. Kangxi was in a hurry at the moment, so he remembered the folk method of "celebrating happiness" and quickly named Tong Jiashi as the queen, hoping to keep Tong Jiashi. As a result, Tong Jiashi didn't get better and eventually died.
All three queens died young, which made Kangxi cruel and never canonized the queen again. So why is this happening? Is it really caused by Kangxi's "bitter days"?
In fact, in my opinion, the answer lies in Kangxi himself! In addition to accidental factors and female reproductive risks (Empress Xiao Chengren died in childbirth), the most critical factor is the continuation of the power struggle in Kangxi Dynasty.
Kangxi's struggle was quite fierce. From the capture of Ao Bai and the leveling of San Francisco in the early days of Kangxi to the capture of the mansion by nine sons in the later years of Kangxi, great waves were set off, involving many people and forces. So in this case, how can the harem hide?
For example, the reason why Empress Xiao Chengren became the original match of Kangxi was to hedge the influence of Ao Bai. And Niu Kelu, the reason why she became queen was after the fall of Ao Bai. Behind the first two queens, there was the background of Kangxi's struggle with Ao Bai.
As for the third Tong Jiashi, she served as the queen's concubine, which is called "an unreasonable name". It should be noted that most people who can enter the harem as concubines represent some kind of power. And Tong Jiashi has to deal with it. It is certain that there will inevitably be various difficulties because of identity problems.
The so-called harem struggle is to compete for favor and interests for the forces behind it. The terrible thing is that Kangxi is the master. He wants to control consorts (Eight Banners), powerful ministers and important ministers.
Does this mean that a queen is not allowed to engage in politics and should be pampered? That's impossible! Second, when necessary, Kangxi will also send a signal to those forces who need to be beaten by hitting the queen. This means that the queens are under great pressure. Therefore, the Empresses of Kangxi were frightened almost every day, and their bodies and minds were greatly destroyed, which finally led to this result.
