Suzhou Red Cross Center Blood Station was established in May 1964, is the Suzhou City Health Bureau directly under the institutions, is responsible for the collection of medical clinical blood in the hospitals in Suzhou city, the supply of blood and clinical transfusion of hospitals, the lower grass-roots level of the operational guidance of the blood station. Annual blood supply in about 13 tons, the existing staff of 82 people, all kinds of professional and technical personnel **** 68 people, health and technical personnel, senior title 4 people, intermediate title 25 people, junior title 21 people.
As a practical project of the municipal party committee and the municipal government in 2000, the new business building of Suzhou Red Cross Blood Center was put into use in May 2001, the new building covers an area of 3,000 square meters, with a construction area of 6,900 square meters. The new building is not only spacious, bright and modern, but also reasonably arranged and well-equipped. In order to ensure the quality of blood, we have introduced advanced blood testing equipments such as fully automatic enzyme immunoassay analyzer, fully automatic sample filling instrument, fully automatic biochemical analyzer, etc. We have been participating in the inter-laboratory quality assessment of the test of the Ministry of Health, Jiangsu Province, and Suzhou City, which has achieved good results for many years.
In recent years, the blood station vigorously implements the strategy of developing the station by science and technology, and actively introduces and cultivates high-quality talents, with 1 doctorate, 4 masters, and 40% of the total number of specialized technical personnel with bachelor's degree or above. At the same time, we have established the Blood Transfusion Laboratory to vigorously carry out the clinical application of peripheral blood stem cell transplantation, which has achieved good social and economic benefits. We cooperated with the Institute of Medical Biotechnology of Soochow University to set up the Stem Cell Research Center, which was approved by the Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu Province as the Key Laboratory of Stem Cell Research in Jiangsu Province. As the designated laboratory of Jiangsu Branch of the Chinese Marrow Bank, the HLA Matching Laboratory was appointed as one of the two HLA high-resolution typing laboratories in China by the Management Center of Chinese Hematopoietic Stem Cell Donor Database in 2005, which is responsible for the final review of the HLA typing of patients and donors who have been successfully matched with HLA in the first stage. It is the only central blood station in the national prefecture and municipal level to obtain this qualification. These mark the city's blood station business construction and research level to a new level.
