Working principle of shallow media filter

Shallow media filter is composed of several standard high-speed sand cylinder units, with unique water distributor and water collector inside, and unique two-way automatic flushing valve, which can realize the backwashing of several standard high-speed sand cylinders individually one by one in normal system operation, and full-automatic program control. It has the advantages of small water consumption for backwashing, convenient equipment installation and easy operation. The equipment has a large flow rate and requires no maintenance. According to different user requirements, there are vertical and horizontal two series. It is suitable for water quality treatment of industrial and civil circulating water system.

Working Principle

When the system is in the state of filtration, the unfiltered water passes through the unique water distributor, and the water is evenly distributed, and the water passes through the packing layer in the filter in a laminar flow state. When the water flows through the packing layer, the impurities are retained in the packing layer. At the bottom of the filter, there are a number of uniformly distributed water collectors, which collect and draw out the filtered water uniformly, and the advection filtration can make the filter filtered under high flow rate, and still achieve a better filtration effect.

With the accumulation of impurities in the packing layer, the internal pressure head loss will continue to increase. When the loss of inlet and outlet pressure head reaches the set value, the system will automatically activate the pressure setting device to make it switch to the backwash state, when this backwash is over, the hydraulic valve will change the direction of water supply to realize the backwash one by one, which is more convenient to clean the impurities that have been accumulated.

When the system is in the state of backwashing, filtration is still continuing, in which to backwash the standard unit sand tank is not filtered, the other standard unit sand tank in the system is still filtered. Filtered clean water is used to backwash part of the standard unit sand tank, the rest is still sent to the user. The backwash effluent is discharged through the backwash drain port of the hydraulic valve. In the high-speed sand cylinder automatic high-efficiency filtration system, the special water collector design can make the packing material between the packing material rubbing each other, maximize the backwash efficiency, reduce the required backwash water (clean water), and at the same time there is no material running phenomenon during backwash. A standard unit sand cylinder backwash for 2 minutes, backwash end, the standard unit sand cylinder internal pressure head loss is reduced to a reasonable range, the pressure device gives a recovery signal, the hydraulic valve returns to the filtration state, the next standard unit sand cylinder is ready to enter the backwash state.
