The predecessor of Heze Medical College is the Plain Province Health School which was approved by the State Council to be established in 1950; in 1958, it was renamed as Heze Regional Medical College, and then went through the period of running the school such as Heze Regional Health School of Shandong Province, Shandong Province Heze Regional Medical College, Shandong Province Heze Regional Health School, and so on; and then approved by the State Council in 1978, it was renamed as Heze Medical Specialized school.
