Linzhou Tumor Hospital was founded in October 1959, its predecessor was "Lin County Esophageal Cancer Hospital", renamed "Lin County Esophageal Cancer Prevention and Research Committee" in March 1960, and established "Lin County Esophageal Cancer Prevention and Research Office" in 1969, and renamed "Lin County Esophageal Cancer Prevention and Research Institute" and "Lin County Tumor Hospital" in May 1979. In 1969, "Lin County Esophageal Cancer Prevention and Research Office" was set up, and in May 1979, the name was changed to "Lin County Esophageal Cancer Prevention and Research Institute" and "Lin County Tumor Hospital", and in March 1994, with the name "Lin County", the name was changed to "Lin County Tumor Hospital". In March 1994, with the change of "Lin County" to "Linzhou City", the name was changed to "Linzhou City Tumor Institute" and "Linzhou City Tumor Hospital". "In August 1996, the hospital was moved from No.174 Longshan Road, Linzhou City to the new site on Chang'an Middle Road, Linzhou City. "Linzhou City Tumor Prevention and Control Office" is now set up in the hospital (institute). Linzhou City Tumor Hospital is a national "Grade 2A" oncology hospital, which is the designated unit for urban workers' basic medical insurance and new rural cooperative medical care.
