First of all, "Deadpool" is a special superhero movie, and unlike past superhero movies, you can obviously feel that this movie has all kinds of bad elements - gore, violence, pornography and dark humor. That's why "Deadpool" has an R movie rating.
It's also why it's not so much special as it is unrepeatable and irreplaceable, and you'd be hard-pressed to imagine another superhero made into a movie that would be as entertaining as "Deadpool.
For the movie itself, "Deadpool" was a huge success in the movie market, costing not much for a superhero movie but grossing more than $300 million in North America, the third-highest grossing R-rated action movie of all time, and more than $600 million globally (and that's because it didn't get a release in big-budget China).
Some viewers will ask why so many people like Deadpool. In the superhero world, there are so many heroes with cool skills, and Deadpool is clearly not the best one.
But Deadpool is the one with the most character traits, which makes many of his behaviors unimaginable for other superheroes. Simply put, Deadpool is a big, unapologetic oddball.
The "Deadpool" movie continues the Deadpool trait from the comics - the mouthpiece. Part of Marvel's top three mouth-breathers (the other two being Star-Lord & Spider-Man), Deadpool never disappoints comic book and movie fans when it comes to the mouth-breathing bit, going BB crazy on whoever he encounters.
Despite being such a hangdog, Deadpool has never been sloppy about the whole saving the world thing, and when it's time to do it, he does it.
What some viewers like about Deadpool is that they've seen so many mainstream superheroes who are completely decent and flawless (such as the magnificent Superman and the wounded but persistent Batman) that they need superheroes to have flaws that are closer to their human roots -- such as cynicism, a sense of humor, a love of mockery, and so on. But at the same time, we want people who we can count on in a pinch.
And so Deadpool became popular.
In fact, if we want to explore Deadpool in depth, we will find that Deadpool is not as heartless as we think.
As far as Deadpool's history is concerned, as we also saw in the movie, the original Deadpool was a handsome guy who accidentally gained superpowers in an experiment to cure cancer, which also made him incredibly ugly.
And yet instead of complaining about it, he faced it all with a heavy-handed demeanor and got the people he loved to accept him as such a scarred man.
It can be said that there are people who are beautiful on the outside but dirty and ugly on the inside, while Deadpool, despite his ugly exterior and foul mouth, is better looking on the inside than most people.
That's what we really like about him.
