What major do students majoring in mechanical design, manufacturing and automation generally choose for postgraduate entrance examination?

Let me introduce myself first. I am studying for a master's degree in mechanical engineering at East China University of Science and Technology. I am also a man who has just gone through the postgraduate entrance examination. I think I want to have a say in this issue.

Anyway, first of all, let me briefly introduce myself. My undergraduate course is an ordinary college, and my major is mechanical design and automation. Then I hit a wall everywhere when I was looking for a job, and finally I made up my mind to take the postgraduate entrance examination. When choosing a major, I also thought about many questions, such as what major will develop better in the future, what major can have higher income and so on.

In fact, I didn't understand these until I experienced them. Most mechanical students choose mechanical electronics after the postgraduate entrance examination, which may be related to some employment situations in society now. Because, now is the era of big data and intelligent manufacturing, not only need excellent professional basic knowledge, but also the future working environment involves various disciplines, so I want to learn some knowledge in all aspects, so I chose the mechanical and electronic major. The picture below shows some photos I took during my internship. This is a company that makes automobile engines.

From the picture, we can clearly see that this engine is connected with many wires, most of which are sensors. Therefore, machinery not only needs to be able to design and model, but also needs to know other electronic knowledge.

Because the postgraduate entrance examination involves the choice of tutors, the direction of your real study and research is closely related to your tutors. Therefore, when choosing a tutor, it is very important to know the research direction of the tutor, see if it is the major you want, and whether you are not interested in the direction of the teacher.

I said so much unconsciously, haha, I hope my answer can give you some inspiration.
