The third ocean drilling expedition in the South China Sea includes two cruises, IODP367 and IODP368, with 66 scientists from 13 countries. The "Determination" departed from Hong Kong on February 13 for the target drilling area in the northern part of the South China Sea, and in the past two months, four drill holes were drilled at two drilling stations in the northern part of the South China Sea, U1499 and U1500***. The total length of the drilling reached 4124 meters, *** drilling core 940 meters, including basalt about 115 meters.
