How to use OTDR

OTDR physical principle of the main components: light source, pulse generator, directional coupler, light detector, amplifier, display. OTDR main function: measurement of optical fiber attenuation, connector loss, optical fiber length, the location of the fiber fault, the loss distribution along the length of the optical fiber. OTDR principle of operation: the OTDR uses its laser light source to send a light pulse to the fiber being measured, the light pulse in the optical fiber itself and each feature point will be reflected back to the OTDR optical signal and through the directional coupling to the OTDR receiver, and here converted to electrical signals, and ultimately in the display. The optical pulse is reflected back to the OTDR at the fiber itself and at each characteristic point, and the reflected optical signal is coupled to the receiver of the OTDR through directional coupling, where it is converted into an electrical signal, and the result curve is finally shown on the display. ◆ Power on the OTDR to enter the interface of selecting mode: Tools：----《Tools》-- Automatic OTDR：[ Automatic mode ]. --- Besides being able to set the luminous wavelength, the distance, pulse and test time are all automatic.　　　　Advanced OTDR: [ Advanced Mode ] - You can set many parameters according to the test situation.
