Motion control card is a high-performance stepping/servo motor motion control card based on PC bus, which uses high-performance microprocessors (such as DSP) and large-scale programmable devices to realize multi-axis coordinated control of multiple servo motors, including pulse output, pulse counting, digital input, digital output, D/A output and other functions. It can send out continuous and high-frequency pulse trains, and control the speed of the motor by changing the frequency of sending pulses, so as to change the speed of sending pulses. Pulse counting can be used for position feedback of encoder, providing accurate position of machine and correcting errors in transmission process. Products are widely used in industrial automation control field, which requires precise positioning and fixed length position control system and NC control system based on PC. Specifically, the underlying software and hardware for motion control are integrated together, so that it has various speed and position control functions required by servo motor control, and these functions can be conveniently called by computer. At present, the domestic and foreign sports control card companies include GALIL and PMAC in the United States, Trio in Britain, Delta, Ling Hua and Advantech in Taiwan Province, R&D, Lei Sai, Gugao, Lechuang and Zhongxingxing in mainland China.
The emergence of motion control card is mainly due to:
(1) To meet the requirements of standardization, flexibility and openness of new CNC system;
(2) In the development and transformation of automatic control systems of various industrial equipment (such as packaging machinery, printing machinery, etc.), national defense equipment (such as tracking and positioning system, etc.), intelligent medical devices and other equipment, a hardware platform of motion control module is urgently needed;
(3) The wide application of PC in various industrial sites also urges the provision of corresponding control cards to give full play to the powerful functions of PC.
Motion control cards usually use professional motion control chips or high-speed DSP as the core of motion control, which are mostly used to control stepping motors or servo motors. Generally, the motion control card and PC form a master-slave control structure: the PC is responsible for the management of human-computer interaction interface and the real-time monitoring of the control system (such as the management of keyboard and mouse, the display of system state, the planning of motion trajectory, the sending of control instructions, the monitoring of external signals, etc.); The control card completes all the details of motion control (including the output of pulse and direction signals, the processing of automatic acceleration and deceleration, the detection of signals such as origin and limit, etc.).
Motion control cards are equipped with open function libraries for users to develop and construct their own control systems under the DOS or Windows platform.
