Refers to the Nice Classification of trademarks, which was officially signed on June 15, 1957 at the diplomatic conference in Nice, France, and entered into force on April 8, 1961 international convention. According to the Nice Classification, the International Classification *** includes 45 classes, of which 34 are goods and 11 are services.
The rules of its classification are to arrange trademarks by goods and services in the order of classes 1-45, with each major class having a class number and title, the title of each class summarizing the characteristics and scope of the goods included in the class, and each item of goods or services being given a sequential number for ease of search.
This classification is used by all Nice Union members and is also available to non-Nice Union members. The difference is that members of the Nice Union can participate in the revision of the Classification List, whereas non-members are not authorized to do so.
