Introduction of Changsha
Changsha is located in the north-eastern part of Hunan Province, at the lower reaches of the Xiangjiang River and the western edge of the Changliu Basin. The geographical area is 27°51′~28°40′ north latitude and 111°53′~114°15′ east longitude.
To the east, it is neighboring Yichun District and Pingxiang City of Jiangxi Province, to the south it is connecting Zhuzhou and Xiangtan cities, and to the west it is connecting Loudi and Yiyang cities. North to Yueyang, Yiyang two cities. East and west is about 230 kilometers long, north and south is about 88 kilometers wide. 2020 the city's land area of 11,816.0 square kilometers, of which the urban area of 2,150.9 square kilometers, built-up area of 560.80 square kilometers.
The geology of Changsha is characterized by complete stratigraphic outcrops and widespread granite bodies. The geological structure is complex, and the strata of various geological historical periods are exposed in Changsha, with the oldest strata formed about 1 billion years ago. About 600 million years ago, Changsha was a vast sea, but the sea water was not deep. Later, the sea water gradually withdrew from east to west, and Liuyang, Changsha and most of Wangcheng rose out of the sea, becoming the northwestern edge of the ancient land of Jiangnan.
