Rizhao Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. was established in February 2003, is a large-scale steel joint venture integrating oxygen production, sintering, ironmaking, steelmaking and steel rolling. The company is located in Rizhao, a beautiful seaside city in Shandong Province, with 204 National Highway and Tongsan Expressway in the west, 2 kilometers from Pinglan Railway in the south, 35 kilometers from Yanzhou-Shi Railway in the north, and railroads such as Beijing-Shanghai, Beijing-Kowloon and Longhai Lines, which has an advantageous geographical location and convenient land transportation. As a seaside iron and steel industrial base, Rizhao Iron and Steel has a unique port advantage, the company east of the Yellow Sea, south of Lanshan Port 6. 7 kilometers, northeast of Rizhao Port 40 kilometers, to facilitate maritime transportation and trade.
Rizhao project since March 31, 2003 officially started construction to September 28 iron, only 181 days, creating a miracle in the history of China's metallurgical construction, by the relevant leaders and industry insiders known as "RISCO speed". By the end of 2004, the company completed the project total investment of 2.7 billion yuan, the annual production capacity of 2 million tons. 2004 July, Rizhao Iron and Steel was rated by the Shandong Provincial Government in the 1167 development strategy as the fourth largest iron and steel industry base.
Oxygen plant existing 6000 and 15000 cubic meters of oxygen generation unit each one, is building 21000 cubic meters of oxygen production project is expected to be put into operation in November 2005, in order to meet the company's iron and steel production capacity needs at the same time, but also can be exported part of the liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen, liquid argon products. It has now cooperated with the world's largest gas company - France Air Liquide, which is conducive to the improvement of production efficiency and the innovation of management mechanism.
Sintering plant is located in the southwest of the company, there are two 60 square meters sintering machines, with an annual output of 1.8 million tons of sintered ore, the main process consists of fuel crushing system, batching system, mixing and granulation system, sintering system, with cold screening system, dust removal system, etc. The production adopts a variety of advanced technologies, such as small-ball sintering, second consecutive low-temperature ignition, thick-layer sintering, etc. and advanced PLC automatic control system.
The ironmaking plant has two 450-cubic-meter blast furnaces and one 530-cubic-meter blast furnace, with an annual production capacity of 1.8 million tons, and another 530-cubic-meter blast furnace is about to be put into operation in May. All the blast furnace roof equipments adopt PW bell-less roof, same side hydraulic mud gun and hydraulic opening machine in front of the furnace, and the blast furnace fan adopts axial flow compressor. The blast furnace charging, hot blast furnace and gas bag dust removal are all controlled by full automation, and the blast furnace coal injection system adopts two medium-speed mills with the production capacity of 33 tons/hour, and the coal injection capacity is up to 150 kilograms.
The steel mill has two 600-ton mixed iron furnaces, three 60-ton oxygen blowing top converters, two 60-ton LF furnaces, one three-machine, three-stream R12M large-size billet continuous casting machine, and two six-machine, six-stream R8M high-efficiency small billet continuous casting machines, which provide raw materials for the production of H-beam steel and bars, and at the same time, can be exported to sell some of the high-quality billet commodities. At present, the production capacity of the steelmaking plant has reached 3 million tons.
In the first half of 2005, the company will complete the "three burn, four high, three turn, two materials" production convergence, from raw material sintering to steelmaking, steel rolling comprehensive support, to reach an annual output of 3 million tons of production capacity. And by adhering to the scale of operation, accelerate technological progress, innovation mode, strengthen internal management, in the next 2-3 years, complete the coking, mechanized yard, special wharf, railroad line, self-provided thermal power plant and other projects, the establishment of the steel research institute, Rizhao Iron and Steel to become a research and production and port transportation as one of the large-scale iron and steel conglomerates.
