What is commonly used for equipment disinfection?

There are three kinds of instrument disinfection commonly used in clinic, high pressure disinfection, boiling disinfection and drug disinfection.

Due to the limitation of conditions, the latter two are mainly used in clinic. Rinse the instrument before disinfection to remove oil stains and blood stains on the instrument. Boiling disinfection is to put instruments into a disinfection pot with filtering function. Small objects such as needles and sutures should be wrapped in gauze. The syringe should be disassembled and put into the pot. Cover the pot and cook for about 30 minutes, or add a little sodium bicarbonate to the water, which can increase the boiling point temperature and make sterilization more effective. Take out the instrument and put it in the instrument tray, and cover it with gauze for later use.

Drug disinfection is to soak instruments in liquid medicine to achieve the purpose of disinfection. Commonly used disinfectants are 0. 1% chlorhexidine, Baidu, etc. , need to soak 10 minutes, 0. 1% bromogeramine needs to soak for 30 minutes. When in use, rinse the instrument with normal saline and then dry it with sterile gauze.

In addition to the above three, alcohol flame disinfection is also commonly used, mainly used for disinfection of metal instruments such as blades, mainly alcohol flame external flame cauterization.
