A laser crystal is the working substance of a crystal laser, a crystalline material capable of converting externally supplied energy through an optical resonant cavity into a highly parallel and monochromatic laser light that is coherent in space and time. Laser technology originated in the 1960s, and lasers, along with atomic energy, semiconductors, and computers, are known as the four new inventions of the 20th century. Laser industry belongs to the high-end technology manufacturing industry, has been the focus of national industrial policy to encourage and strongly support. In recent years, China's fiber laser (the core components of laser processing equipment) industry is in a rapid growth stage, the degree of localization increases year by year. In terms of low-power fiber lasers, the market share of domestically produced lasers was as high as 98.21% in 2018; in terms of medium-power fiber lasers, the market penetration rate of domestically produced lasers has been maintained at more than 50% in recent years; the process of localization of high-power fiber lasers has been gradually promoted, and the process of "from scratch" has been achieved between 2013 and 2018, and the market penetration rate has been increased to over 50%.
