This occupational classification uses a three-digit code. The first digit indicates the major category; the second digit indicates the medium category; and the third digit indicates the minor category. The major and medium categories are separated by a dash "-" to show the difference. The first category is represented by 0; the second category is represented by 1/2, occupying 1 and 2 numbers; the sixth category is represented by 6/7/8/9, occupying 6, 7, 8 and 9 numbers; the eighth category is directly represented by 999; and the rest of the major categories are occupied by a single number.
