Mi-171 helicopter
The Mi-171 helicopter is a new type of helicopter designed by Russia's Miri Design Bureau and produced by Russia's Ulan Aerospace Production Combine, offering significant improvements in performance and reliability over the Mi-8T and Mi-17. Development of the new aircraft began in 1988 and production began in 1991. A variety of models have since been developed, with the most notable being the Mi-171SH armed transport helicopter, which was successfully developed in 1993, combining transport and armed helicopters perfectly, and began mass production in 2000.
Since the 1990s, the Mi-171 series helicopters have been exported in large numbers to countries in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Central Asia, Africa, Europe and South America, with more than 400 Mi-171 family helicopters in service in various countries.
