1. Guang'ao Harbor is located in Guang'ao Bay at the south end of Dahao Island in the southern district of Shantou City, which is an important outer harbor area of Shantou Port. The geographical position of Guang'ao harbor is very favorable. With slight sedimentation and relatively stable geological structure, it is the only natural deep-water harbor in the eastern part of Guangdong.
2. Shantou Port is one of the 25 major coastal ports in China, and its direct economic hinterland is the vast area of 14 counties under the jurisdiction of Shantou, Chaozhou, Jieyang and Meizhou, and its indirect hinterland includes part of southwestern Fujian and southern Gan.
3. Shantou International Container Terminal (SICT) is located in Zhuchi Harbor, Shantou Special Economic Zone, Guangdong Province, one hundred and eighty-seven nautical miles northeast of Hong Kong and two hundred and fourteen nautical miles west of Taiwan.
