According to information from China Eastern Airlines, passengers may carry cameras, cell phones, laptops, tablet computers, and other portable electronic devices for personal use with lithium content of no more than 2 grams of lithium metal or lithium alloy batteries, or lithium-ion batteries or packs rated at no more than 100Wh of energy, as well as spare batteries on board passenger aircraft. It is strictly prohibited to put spare lithium batteries into checked baggage for transportation. Rechargeable batteries should be regarded as spare lithium batteries and are strictly prohibited to be put into checked baggage for transportation.
Restrictions on portable electronic devices (including medical devices) containing lithium batteries and spare lithium batteries: With the approval of the airlines, passengers can bring on board portable electronic devices (including medical devices) containing lithium batteries with lithium content of more than 2 grams but not more than 8 grams of lithium metal or lithium alloy batteries or lithium-ion batteries with a rated energy of more than 100Wh but not more than 160Wh. Each passenger cannot carry more than two spare lithium batteries for such portable electronic devices, and they cannot be checked in.
