Overview of Health Industry in China

At present, China's health industry is composed of medical health services and non-medical health services, and has formed four basic industrial groups [1-2], that is, the medical industry with medical service institutions as the main body; A pharmaceutical industry that focuses on the production and sales of drugs, medical devices and other medical consumables; Traditional health care industry with the production and sales of health food and health products as the main body; Health management service industry with personalized health testing and evaluation, consulting service, rehabilitation and safety promotion as its core. From the consumption pattern, the services provided by the medical industry and the pharmaceutical industry are more passive consumption for consumers, while the services provided by the health management industry are more active consumption for consumers. Health care industry is somewhere in between. From the perspective of industrial division of labor, these industries belong to different national administrative systems, different market scopes, and have their own operating rules to serve different consumer groups. They are mutually independent, interdependent and influential, serving people's health. Health industry is an important pillar industry leading the sustainable growth of China's national economy.
