Is the protein content in ice cream high?

Previously, ice cream was classified as "junk food" because of its high calorie, many additives and possibly trans fatty acids, so that foodies and "skinny people" loved and hated it. In fact, it is biased to simply regard ice cream as "junk food". Professor Fan Zhihong from Food College of China Agricultural University pointed out that ice cream contains some unexpected health ingredients! First of all, there are many vitamins, especially vitamin B2, vitamin B6, vitamin A and vitamin D. In addition, there are a small amount of vitamin E, vitamin K, vitamin B 1 and folic acid. Secondly, the broken nuts in ice cream contain trace elements such as iron, copper, zinc and manganese, and the most common vanilla ice cream contains even a little more calcium than pure milk. It is worth mentioning that the protein content of ice cream is equivalent to the level of "high protein milk", which is higher than yogurt!

Because of the high sugar and fat content of ice cream, experts say that some special people really need to avoid eating it, such as diabetics, chronic pancreatitis patients and cholecystitis patients. But sugar and fat are nutrients that human body needs, so it is ok for healthy people to eat ice cream in moderation. A small cup of ice cream (50g) is about 90 kilocalories, which is equivalent to the heat of a small bowl of rice. It is normal to eat a small cup of ice cream every day and eat less other snacks, but excessive consumption will inevitably lead to overweight and obesity.

Some ice cream products use artificial vegetable cream instead of natural cream, which may contain trans fatty acids. However, due to the improvement of production technology, the content of trans fatty acids in many products with "vegetable butter" and "hydrogenated vegetable oil" is already very low. For people who want to lose weight, vegetable fat ice cream (the fat content is much lower than that of pure milk ice cream) is a good choice, and you don't have to worry about trans fatty acids with extremely low risk and "picking up sesame seeds and losing watermelon".
