According to legend, at the end of Sui Dynasty, the king of Qin took his wife to the Central Plains to spy on the military situation in order to defeat him. It wasn't long before Wang discovered this. Li Shimin and his wife came to the southwest of Xingyang County (now southwest of Zhengzhou City, where Cherry Valley is located) to avoid being hunted. Seeing the simple folk customs here, there is no king's military forces. I wanted to settle down here before making plans, but Wang was cruel and burned and looted everywhere. Seeing the people living in dire straits, they decided to continue to explore the military situation and defeat the king as soon as possible. Considering the danger of the journey, I left Heshi alone and went to Luoyang by myself. Who knows, after leaving, there is no news, and I am very worried. In order to wish her husband an early and safe return, Shi hangs red ribbons in front of two acacia trees on the first and fifteenth day of each month to express his best wishes and thoughts. Today, there is a saying among local people-"Acacia sent to HongLing, and my lover returned safely". A year later, with the help of Shaolin monks, he got rid of Wang's pursuit and led an army across the Yellow River, destroying all the king's military forces. After the victory, he led his cronies to bring him back to Taiyuan. After Heshi left, under the careful care of the villagers, these two acacia trees are still flourishing. People from generation to generation tie red ribbons on the acacia trees on the first and fifteenth day of each month to wish themselves health, longevity, peace and happiness.
