Wuhan Center for Disease Control and Prevention was formally established on February 5, 2002. Its predecessor was Wuhan Health and Epidemic Prevention Station, which was established in September 1952. The center is a specialized agency to perform government functions, a technical management and guidance center for disease prevention and control in the city, and belongs to a public welfare health institution. ? The main responsibilities of Wuhan CDC include:
