Traditionally, health care and education are two areas of government responsibility worldwide. It is quite reasonable to ask the government for funds. But this will bring many negative consequences.
As the government provides funds for these two fields, service providers in related fields will not have to compete for market share. Without competition, there is no motivation for improvement and innovation, so medical services and medical technology will not progress.
In a word, I think individuals should be responsible for their own education and medical expenses, because all the expenses are almost beyond the government budget, and public financing may hinder competition and reduce the efficiency of relevant departments.
