The oleic acid of traditional soybean oil is only 20-25%, while the oleic acid extracted by new soybean varieties is as high as 72%-75%, which is beneficial to cardiovascular health. Lin Yuxiang of the American Soybean Export Association said that the composition of the new soybean oil is better than the traditional one. The US FDA has approved the nutritional label that high oleic soybean oil can claim cardiovascular protection. The price is more close to the people than high-priced oil such as olive oil, and there is a chance for more people to use healthy oil.

Soybean oil with high oleic acid has high temperature stability, frying resistance and prolonged shelf life. It can be used in daily applications such as frying in restaurants, baking spray oil, shortening base oil, pan spray oil, non-dairy creamer and so on.

Lin Junchen, director general of Taiwan Province Vegetable Oil Refining Union, said that 20% of soybeans can be made into oil, and the other 80% can be made into soybean powder for feed industry. Judging from the current soybean sources in Taiwan Province Province, the proportion of soybeans imported from the United States was as high as 86% last year, so the United States is now improving and expanding the cultivation of high-oleic soybeans. It is expected that the oil structure provided by Taiwan Province Province will change in the next few years.

Therefore, Chen, vice chairman of the Agriculture Committee, Hong Yaokun, chairman of the Taiwan Province Vegetable Oil Refining Industry Association, and others recently formed an agricultural delegation from Taiwan Province Province and signed a letter of intent with the American Soybean Export Association on Capitol Hill to make oil prices less susceptible to international trade.
