Taking an employee in this city as an example, the actual balance of personal medical account plus interest income before carry-over is 5000 yuan, not more than 8000 yuan. According to the previous regulations, only 600 yuan, the fund used for drug purchase and physical examination, can be credited to the health account. Now, according to the new regulations, the part exceeding 3,000 yuan (that is, 2,000 yuan) can also be included in the health account. Workers can use this money to pay for the original medical expenses in cash, or pay for the medical expenses that should be borne by individuals for the elderly or children through the establishment of a family medical network, and can also be used for preventive health care expenses such as physical examination and vaccination.
The Xiamen Municipal Department of Human Resources and Social Security also reminds everyone that if the money in personal medical accounts and health accounts is not used up in one social security year, it will not be cleared as a whole, but will be accumulated in the accounts and can continue to be used in the next social security year.
