Master Guangxing: the difference between dedication, charity and charity

From the formal point of view, there is not much difference between giving and charity, so many people think that charity and giving are the same, and even most people think that giving, charity and support are the same thing, and there is no difference in essence and form. Is that really the case? So doing charity in society is completely equivalent to giving by Buddhist disciples?

As we all know, the scope of charity is very wide, such as doing public welfare undertakings, donating materials to nursing homes and orphanages, and giving humanitarian assistance to people living in poverty and suffering from natural and man-made disasters. Even voluntary performances, compulsory education support, bridge paving, building houses and hospitals, and so on. From the Buddhist point of view, the act of sharing what you have with others and helping others is a form of giving. Giving is the first step in practicing Buddhism and the first procedure of Bodhisattva. In volume 579 of Maha Prajna Sutra, it is said: "All practices must be given first. Therefore, giving is the first of "six degrees" and the first of "four shots". But Buddhism says that giving to others can be divided into three categories: money giving, legal giving and fearless giving. To put it simply, giving money means giving away your belongings, including internal wealth and external wealth. Internal wealth refers to a person's body, body organs, wife and children can be abandoned, while external wealth refers to movable property, real estate, daily necessities and so on. Buddhist almsgiving means that Buddhist almsgiving is given to all sentient beings, freeing all sentient beings. Fearless giving is an act that scares all sentient beings. For example, when others encounter difficulties and hardships, they comfort people with their own wealth, knowledge, wisdom and words, so that people can be physically and mentally stable and get rid of fear. Therefore, only in these three forms of external charity, he is different from social charity. In particular, the charity of Buddhism is a way to teach all beings to get pleasure from suffering, which is different from the form of charity. It can be said that the charity mentioned in Buddhism can include all the charity in the world, but the charity in the world cannot be said to be completely equivalent to the charity paramita mentioned in Buddhism.

? Giving can cure greed and frugality, and the purpose of Buddhist disciples' behavior is to cure troubles and get rid of them. This is the fundamental difference of starting point. Moreover, each of the six degrees contains prajna wisdom. Without Prajna wisdom, the other five degrees in the world will become good, and there will be reincarnation, because good and evil are the driving force of reincarnation. There are differences in form, connotation and views on law, and they can also be said to be different in the original motivation given to this behavior.

Buddha revealed three sources of troubles of all beings: greed, hatred and ignorance. The cure of charity is greed. We have all kinds of greedy love for things in the world, which causes the distress of "love parting" and "nothing to ask for" and puzzles our body and mind. Therefore, if we want to get rid of all kinds of troubles caused by greed, we must follow the teachings of the Buddha and practice giving paramita in our lives.

As a mage said, "giving" is just a good practice method, which can keep us away from greed and even the three poisons. Giving can cure our greedy character and let others share our own things, which is a manifestation of opening ourselves up and a way to eliminate "greed"; In addition, communicate with others more, think for others, understand that people are interrelated and influence each other, and hate others also affects themselves, so don't hate, so as to eliminate "hate"; Finally, we can understand the real situation of world things from the origin law, let go of our attachment to "I", thus eliminating "ignorance" and finally getting rid of it.

Therefore, for charity, Buddhism talks about Prajna Paramita, which is a way of worrying about confrontation and greed, and also an act of accumulating rich virtues. In the process of charity, it is necessary to see three rounds of empty bodies, which many philanthropists do not have. Good behavior is advocated, but the charity that seeks ultimate liberation with Buddhist significance is more extensive than the charity in the world. A perfect almsgiving, namely "Prajna Paramita", is decided to have the significance of realizing spiritual practice.

Many people think that giving and dedication are the same thing, but I don't understand it, because giving is greedy and stingy, and dedication can slow me down. Respect for Buddha, Buddha, Sambo and sage is called support, conversion is a big support, and giving Sambo property is a support, which can make people feel respect. Chapter 42 says that helping the wicked is better than helping the good, and those who support the Five Commandments are better than helping the good. By analogy, it is important to help people in trouble and give as usual, but it is more important to support the three treasures, especially the four things that can even gain secular significance.

Four things support refers to providing clothes, food, bedding and soup to support monks, because these are the most basic necessities of life. In the past, the clothes worn by monks were called patchwork clothes, which were picked up from the dung heap of the cemetery and then taken back to wash, wash the old colors, sew them together and dye them into a unified color. If you have the conditions now, you can buy it in a place that specializes in monk clothes. This kind of basic living guarantee can maintain monks' normal study and peace of mind. The necessary thing to support their lives is extremely good deeds, and it is also a great opportunity to accumulate infinite wealth, make good relationships and reduce karma. It not only keeps them away from the present troubles, but also removes the spiritual bondage, purifies their hearts, and also lays a beautiful seed for future generations to become Buddhists.

The liberation of all living beings depends on the promotion of Buddhism, and the representative of Buddhism in the world is the three treasures, which build temples to protect monks and provide property, so that they can have the protection of life and property to give Buddhism, so that more people can contact and learn the methods of liberation. This is the ultimate degree of salvation. Therefore, support is very, very important, but there is a difference between the leaked goodwill and even the usual efforts.

Four things that support secular results:

The result of supporting the monk's clothes is to look solemn.

As a result of supporting a family, there will be no shortage of food on the way to practice in the future.

The reward of providing bedding for monks is that they will not be very tired on the road of practice in the future, and they can practice diligently.

The result of raising monks and doctors is that they will not get sick, die young and live a long life when they practice in the future.
