Many people snore when they sleep. Why is snoring actually a disease?

There is always annoying snoring around me when I need to sleep at night. In the past, snoring was considered as a symbol of a person's good sleep quality. But now we think that snoring will not only affect the sleep of people around us, but also bring many health problems. Snoring can lead to brain hypoxia, and 75% snorers suffer from obstructive sleep apnea syndrome.

During the temporary interruption of breathing during sleep, snorers repeatedly suffer from hypoxemia, hypercapnia and sleep structure disorder at night, which seriously affects their health and quality of life. So snoring is really a disease. Why do you snore? When sleeping at night, the sensitivity of nerves decreases, and the muscles of the upper mouth (soft palate), tongue and throat relax. Excessive relaxation of these muscles can lead to narrowing or obstruction of the respiratory tract.

After the airflow passes, the soft palate and fender vibrate, hitting the back wall of the throat and snoring. If prayer is narrow to a certain extent or even completely blocked, sleep apnea syndrome will occur, and snoring that stops suddenly in the middle is more dangerous. In addition, the hypertrophy of tonsils and other glands will cause vibration and cause snoring. The narrower the ventilator, the greater the tissue vibration and the louder the snoring. Snoring in sleep is actually a disease.

Changing the sleeping position, the tongue and soft palate on the supine side collapse to the back wall of the throat, resulting in vibrating sound during sleep. Sleeping on your side helps to prevent this. People who snore should sleep on their side, preferably on their side. Adjust your weight. If you have gained weight before but didn't snore, losing weight may help. Because too much adipose tissue around the neck will squeeze the inner diameter of the throat, it is easier to collapse when sleeping.

Avoid drinking alcohol, alcohol will reduce the rest tension of the muscles behind the neck and make people snore easily. Especially if you drink alcohol 4-5 hours before going to bed, snoring will be very serious. So people who snore had better give up drinking. Change pillows frequently, and allergens in bedrooms and pillows can also make people snore. Dust mites are allergic to snoring on pillows.

Keep the bedroom damp. Too dry air in the bedroom will stimulate the nasal cavity and throat tissue, which will become the cause of swelling and lead to snoring. In addition, drink plenty of water yourself. After gas dehydration, nasal secretions become sticky and airway obstruction intensifies. If you can't interfere with snoring through lifestyle or have a serious impact on your personal life, you should seek medical advice in time.
