Dong Feng is a famous Chinese medicine practitioner in Han Dynasty. According to legend, he treated people at home, without charge, but only asked patients to plant several apricot trees around his home after he recovered. Generally, five trees are planted when a serious illness is cured, and one tree is planted when a minor illness is cured. A few years later, there were more than ten apricot trees around Dong Feng's residence.

Dong Feng lived in Fu Xie, and Hou Xie plotted against the imperial court, fearing that Dong Feng would expose his plot and want to hurt it. Dong Feng pretended to be dead with qigong, cheated Xie and ran away.
