Baseline is the behavioral characteristics of actors when they are not pretending. Baseline is similar to the reference system in physics, such as the motion of objects. Without a frame of reference, it is impossible to determine what kind of motion an object is doing. Similarly, in micro-reaction, without a baseline, it is impossible to determine whether the reaction of the parties is normal or abnormal.
The types of baselines are as follows:
1. Physiological index value.
In our usual physical examination, the number of physiological indexes obtained by blood test indicates health in a certain interval, and if it exceeds the normal reference interval, it indicates the existence of diseases.
2. Behavior characteristics of calm state (flat static baseline)
Our words and deeds in a relaxed state include expressions, breathing, sounds and body movements. A state of complete relaxation usually occurs in two situations: one is solitude; The second is to be in a safe and relaxed communication environment. The acquisition of this static baseline requires long-term observation, not overnight. For example, many girls think that there is something wrong with their boyfriends today, and there must be something wrong. "What's wrong" is a girl's feeling according to her boyfriend's baseline for a long time.
3. Behavioral characteristics dominated by real emotions (emotional baseline)
Our expression, voice, body posture and action features are also a baseline after the emergence of true emotions that are not suppressed and concealed. These behavioral characteristics when true feelings are revealed are called "emotional baseline". Emotional baseline is more difficult to obtain than flat static baseline, because the civilized rules of modern society rarely allow actors to be overjoyed and furious. There is no need to discuss when you are alone, and it is difficult to collect the strong surprise, disgust, anger, fear, sadness and even laughter of the actors when you are with people.
More is a repressed emotional state, such as dissatisfaction, pride, sadness, disgust and so on. And these emotional States may be mixed with many unconscious interferences. If you say habits, manners, cultivation, etc. We should pay special attention to these forms of interference when obtaining the baseline of emotional state. For example, when a person really laughs, the height of the corners of the mouth on the left and right sides is unbalanced, so this is the baseline characteristic of his emotional state, and it cannot be considered as a contemptuous smile in future analysis.
4. Stable social behavior characteristics
Although social behavior cannot be used as the analysis object of micro-reaction, it can be used as a very important behavioral baseline to analyze the abnormal reaction of the actor. For example, the behavioral characteristics of actors speaking at the meeting; Look at the words and deeds of superiors; Characteristics of words and deeds when expressing opinions seriously; Characteristics of words and deeds in defense and so on.
The data of social behavior baseline is easy to obtain, and once the actor has an abnormal reaction that violates the social behavior baseline, it is easier to be detected. If abnormal social behavior occurs after a specific stimulus, we can quickly compare the abnormal social behavior with static baseline and emotional baseline, find consistent characteristic clues, and then analyze them.
