On February 9 this year, the National Internet Information Office and other seven departments issued the Guiding Opinions on Strengthening the Standardized Management of Webcast, which clearly stipulated that the Webcast platform "should provide minor mode for minor users, prevent minors from indulging in Webcast, block the webcast content that is not conducive to the healthy growth of minors, and may not provide recharge and reward services to minors." It can be seen that setting the youth protection mode is a mandatory requirement for the webcast platform. The newly revised Law on the Protection of Minors extends this mandatory requirement to all network service providers such as online games, live webcasts, online audio and video, and online social networking. Article 74 stipulates: "Internet products and services providers shall not provide minors with products and services that induce their addiction. Network service providers such as online games, webcasts, online audio and video, and online social networking should set up corresponding functions such as time management, authority management, and consumption management for minors to use their services. " Although there is no explicit reference to the "minor protection mode", it already contains the substantive requirements of the minor protection mode.
The purpose of setting up a youth protection model is to make young people use the Internet healthily and correctly and avoid network risks. Therefore, from the name to the content, we can choose the name that suits the psychological characteristics and growth law of teenagers within the scope of health science. If the "youth protection model" is misused, it may make young people psychologically excluded. As long as it meets the connotation requirements of the youth protection model, the platform can design a more lively and attractive name by itself. At the same time, we should rationally treat the content supply under the youth protection mode, increase the types and quantities of high-quality content, and allow appropriate healthy and upward pure leisure and entertainment content to exist.
